What was an important Jesus moment in your life?Because Jesus has been a constant companion for as long as I can remember, it becomes difficult to differentiate the "non-Jesus moments" from the "Jesus moments." However, rarely have I felt Jesus nearer than when witnessing the innocence and sincerity of a preschooler in prayer. It is common practice for them to thank God for everything from their family and friends to the classroom toys and napkins on the snack table. Occasionally, you hear a child veer from the standard closing of "Amen" and state simply, but sincerely, "I love you, God." Precious!
Matthew 18:2-6
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."

I am the granddaughter of "The Pistol-Packin' Preacher." He carried a gun to protect himself from angry gamblers who objected to his removal of illegal gambling machines out of taverns in California during the 1940's.
Knowing why I believe in God will not necessarily help anyone reading this. Why a person believes in God can only come through direct personal experience. Direct personal experience can only come through God's mercy and grace.
Actually, Jesus is having His people call my people; we are currently negotiating my contract. :)

Sometimes it takes multiple attempts and varying methods of instruction before a student comprehends a lesson. At what point an idea becomes truth varies for each child. I've learned the same is true for one's spiritual journey—our pathway to truth may look very different from that of our neighbor. Relax. God's timing is perfect.
