Messiah News

Messiah is committed to caring for others as a conduit to making meaningful connections. We serve both locally and globally in response to Jesus' call to love our neighbors.

One Mile Mission

Messiah Lutheran Church is passionate about serving students and the local community. The congregation's One Mile Mission initiative is a vision that every child from birth-18 living or attending school within one mile of both of Messiah's campuses has everything that they need to learn. Messiah has formed partnerships with the local schools to live out this vision. Mission initiatives have included:

  • Providing items for Columbia River High School Care Closet
  • Serving the Graduate Breakfast at Columbia River High School
  • Having Lunch Buddies at various schools
  • Leading a monthly craft table at Club Greatness at Jason Lee Middle School
  • Providing food bags to families at Lake Shore Elementary School
  • Having tutors and volunteers in area schools
  • Providing pizza and games at the Early Learning Night at Eisenhower Elementary School
  • Serving root beer floats at curriculum nights at Columbia River, Jason Lee, and Eisenhower schools
  • Providing items for the Ridgefield Family Resource Center
  • Doing work projects at Eisenhower and Lake Shore Elementary Schools on Messiah's Day of Service
