Third Quarter grants were considered and approved by the Endowment Committee and then by the Church Leadership Committee.
The following were awarded:
- $2000 was given to the Winter Hospitality Overflow ministry which is primarily at St Andrew's Church for homeless women and families
- $1000 was given to acquire t-shirts for Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service next February which will be held at our church for the community
- $1200 was given to provide college tuition to two students in the Philippines that have been supported by a family in our congregation
- $1100 was given to purchase pizza, drinks, and snacks for the monthly ministry to the detainees at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center
- $599 was given to pay for the shaved ice truck that was used for the Fall Kick Off of our church youth
- $1000 was allotted to purchase the remaining fabric that exists that covers our church pews; this will be used to reupholster the two large pews with frayed fabric in the back of the sanctuary and be available for future use as needs arise to deal with other pews
The Endowment Committee still has money to allocate this year. Our Church Constitution says that these funds are to be distributed to the following categories: (1) World Outreach, Ministries, and Missions (2) Local Community Outreach (3) Extraordinary programs or capital improvements within our church facility and (4) funds that can be allocated at the discretion of the Endowment Committee.
Do you have a idea that needs funding? Fill out a Grant Request (available on the church website) and submit it by Tuesday, Nov 26 for consideration in our final quarter.
