As we prepare for Prs. Kathy and Peter's retirement, we look back and give thanks to everything they have provided to the Messiah Lutheran Church community over the years. It is now time, however, to look inside our ministries, examine ourselves and discern possibilities for what the Messiah community will look like in the future.
As one of the first steps in the Pastoral Transition, we will have a series of forums to discern that which makes Messiah. Our first forum was at the Hazel Dell campus the Sunday following Easter. The following week the first forum at Messiah North was conducted. Jubilee Collective will soon be following suit.
Other opportunities to participate in future forums and on-line surveys will be provided to both Messiah members and past members to allow the transition team to develop the Ministry Site Profile (MSP).
The Ministry Site Profile is integral to providing the Synod an accurate description of Messiah's ministries, culture and goals. With this information, the Synod is able to match us up with, skilled pastors for our consideration. If you would like to be part of the MSP team in facilitating forums, developing surveys, analyzing information gathered and completing the Ministry Site Profile, please contact Beth Adams at
While the Ministry Site Profile team continues its work, there are other opportunities to volunteer as well. Some members are already at work on the Pastor's Fulfilling Farewell.

The next few months will be a time of reflection, and expression.The Pastoral Transition Team is moving forward carefully to allow sufficient time for everyone's input. If you feel called to volunteer your time for any of the above, please let me know.
