October Giving Campaign for WHO

Dear Friends,

In 2002 the Vancouver/Clark county faith community took a leap of faith and began The Winter Hospitality Overflow [WHO] ministry. The WHO is located at St Paul and St Andrew Lutheran Churches. The ministry provides 80 of our most vulnerable neighbors a safe, warm, and predictable place to rest. We operate during the coldest and wettest months of the year - November 1 through March 31. Each night St Paul serves 25-30 single men, and St Andrew serves 45-50 single women and families.

In November 2020, we begin our 18th season. We ask you to leap again – even as we face unprecedented challenges not only to serving the homeless but also to maintaining our own communities. We need your financial support more than ever this year.

Even with increased safety and hygiene precautions, most of our volunteers cannot take part this season. Our partners at SHARE and Outsiders Inn agreed to provide staffing support in place of our volunteers. This will require a significant increase in our expenses.

Our goal is to raise $50,000.

Here's how churches, organizations, and individuals can support the WHO:

  • Make a financial donation to sustain the program. Click HERE to donate online or mail donations to Council for the Homeless, 2500 Main St., Vancouver WA 98660
  • Host an OCTOBER WHO GIVING CAMPAIGN on your website by posting our promotional flyer. Flyer has suggested donations and you can hyperlink it to the WHO website with online giving options. If you need assistance posting or hyperlinking please reach out to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Download promotional flyer HERE.
  • WHO donation page link is: https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/CouncilfortheHomeless/Whogiving.html

We cannot do this alone. We need each other to continue this vital ministry for our community. Thank you for your essential partnership in The WHO.

With Gratitude,
