Your are invited to "The Freedom of a Christian" | twice-weekly opportunities

Tuesdays at 6am | Wednesdays at 10am | "The Christian [person] is a completely free lord of all, subject to none. The Christian [person] is a completely dutiful servant of all, subject to all." - M. Luther

Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther wrote a treatise titled "The Freedom of a Christian." In it, he offered his most compelling summary of the Christian life: In Christ we are completely free and at the same time completely bound in love and service to our neighbors. To mark the milestone anniversary of this seminal treatise, Pr. Peter and Intern Pr. Maggie are leading a six-week study, which started September 22-23. Sessions happen at 6:00am on Tuesdays and at 10:00am on Wednesdays. It is never too late to be a guest of the respective groups. Check it out and see if it's a fit.

After reading and reviewing the document together, participants will watch videos and read essays shared by contemporary Lutheran scholars reflecting on what the freedom of a Christian looks like today in different settings.

The ELCA arranged with 1517 Media Resources (formerly Augsburg-Fortress publishing) to celebrate the treatise's 500th anniversary of the publication by making it free for one year. You may get your free digital copy by clicking here. The course also comes with a free 54-page study guide for each participant. Download your study guide here.

If you would like to participate in either of the session times, please contact Pr. Peter and he will email you the Zoom link for this online learning experience.
