The election season has been tumultuous and most likely the vast majority of us can't wait for it to be over.
Surely, we have heard so many proclaim that "the stakes have never been higher!" Most of us have already voted and we are now just holding our breath as November 5 approaches. We have seen, however, that some aspects of these challenging political times are with us and not going to abate or change anytime soon, even after the election results are announced. How do we continue to process what is happening in our personal lives and community?
It seemed like a good opportunity for us to come together and see what we might share to support our church community through the Hop Topics format. To that end Steve Friebel and Tom Tweed will be hosting a discussion at Heathen Brewing Feral Public House at 1109 Washington St in Vancouver on Thursday night, November 14.
Come and place a food and drink order at 5:30 and discussion will begin at 6:00 in the private room off the bar. Think about these questions or come with your own:
- How are the family and friends dynamics regarding the election playing out over the holidays?
- What do our Christian principles and Biblical counsel have to offer us in these troubled times?
- How do we talk to one another when rhetoric has raised the temperature to such heated levels?
