Church Leadership Team Update for September 2025

September CLT Report


Approved adding a maintenance contract for the 14 different HVAC units in the Hazel Dell church complex and approved replacement of the heat pump at the church house.

Treasurer, Mark Roskopf, noted we are running a small surplus two months into the fiscal year.

Financial Secretary, Doug Ruecker, reported contributions are up slightly over this time last year.

It was noted Preschool enrollment is at 49. (About the same as last year.)

Jessica Potts reported all outside groups using the building now have certificates of insurance on file.

Semi annual meeting dates for 2026 were set for February 1 and June 7.

Asphalt repair in the east parking lot at Hazel Dell is awaiting tree removal. At least 5 trees in the lot are dying because the planter boxes are not adequate. The trees will need to be removed. The sidewalk has buckled due to the tree roots, and we are responsible/liable for it. Bids for tree removal and a second bid for asphalt repair are pending. Sidewalk repair will also be necessary.

Cross replacement at Hazel Dell has hit a road block. The company we have been working with cannot source a beam big enough to replace the cross with "like kind and quality". Congregational input will be needed to determine next steps for replacement, but the current cross has to be removed as it is rotting.

The next CLT meeting is October 14 and Confirmation is set for October 26.
