A Christmas Thank You from the Pastors

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we write to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible efforts, generosity, and commitment that made our Christmas Eve worship such a profound experience. You truly embodied the themes of our Advent series, "Insisting on Hope This Advent."

In a world still grappling with uncertainty, violence, and other manifestations of "Herodian times", it would be easy to freeze, flee, or turn inward. But instead, you chose to fill the worship space, offering welcome, care, and community. This act of hospitality and service demonstrates the core truth of the season: the birth of Jesus is humble and defiantly hopeful. Like Mary, Joseph, and the magi before us, you are not denying your fears, you are moving through them.

Your dedication, whether through decorating, organizing, singing, ushering, or contributing financially, was a powerful act of resistance. It reminds us that the gospel message is louder than fear, and that proclaiming this good news is a countercultural act.

Thank you for demonstrating that hope that trembles is still hope. As we continue into the New Year we do so trusting that the One who met Mary and Joseph in a manger also goes with us every step of the way.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Pastors David and Robyn
