August Food on the 4th Requests
The following list contains the items requested by the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank in August:
- Top Ramen
- Refried Beans
- Cans of Corn
- Cans of Baked Beans
- Cans of Mandarin Oranges
- Cans of Peaches
These are just suggestions. Other types of foods are always welcome!
Sunday August 23rd is the date for this month’s food gathering. If you will be out of town, you are welcome to leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex anytime during the month.
If you would like to participate in distributing the food items, please consider coming to church on Tuesday, August 25thh at 9:30 AM when the food is sorted and boxed in the narthex. This sorting process is usually completed in less than one-half hour. You may contact Dave or Lynne Radke for more information. (360-907-2318).

You may leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex at anytime during the month, and food will be placed around the altar at worship services on on the 4th Sunday of each month. The sorting and distributing of the food will be on Monday after the 4th Sunday at 8:30 AM in the narthex. You are always welcome to come and help with the sorting! Both of the food banks that we serve, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, continue to express their gratitude for the generosity of Messiah Congregation! So far in 2025, 3,023 pounds of food have been donated to the two food banks that we serve!
