January Food on the 4th
The Neighbors Helping Neighbors food bank in Ridgefield has requested the following food items:
- Cans of tomatoes
- Pancake Mix and syrup
- Cans of pork
- Cans of Spam
- Oatmeal: old-fashioned oats or quick cooking
- Small cans of soup
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Cans of baked beans
- Mayonnaise
- Berry Jams
Food will be collected on Sunday, January 25th although bags of food may be left by the cupboard in the narthex any time during the month. Foods will be sorted on Monday January 26th at 8:30 AM. Your generous donations of food to those in need in December was wonderful as 1145 pounds of food were donated to the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank! Thank you very much!
You may leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex at anytime during the month, and food will be placed around the altar at worship services on on the 4th Sunday of each month. The sorting and distributing of the food will be on Monday after the 4th Sunday at 8:30 AM in the narthex. You are always welcome to come and help with the sorting! Both of the food banks that we serve, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, continue to express their gratitude for the generosity of Messiah Congregation! So far in 2025, 3,023 pounds of food have been donated to the two food banks that we serve!
