December 2025 Shopping List

The Lewis River Mobile Food Bank has requested the following items for December:

Refried Beans

Baked Beans

Chili

Beef Stew

Box Meals (Hamburger Helper, Pasta Helper, Rice-a-Roni, etc.)

Peaches

Pineapple

Of course, any other types of food that you would like to donate are also happily accepted

by the food bank. Bags of food may be left by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex any time during the month of December. Because of all of the Christmas activities, we will not be putting bags around the altar on the 4th Sunday for this month only.

Your generous support of this ministry has been amazing! In November, we reached our goal of surpassing the largest number of pounds given in any one month, and the new total for a single month is 2089 pounds (1,822 pounds donated at Hazel Dell and 267 pounds donated at North County). We also went over 200,000 pounds (100 tons) of food donated since Food on the 4th began in 2010. Thank you so much!

You may leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex at anytime during the month, and food will be placed around the altar at worship services on on the 4th Sunday of each month. The sorting and distributing of the food will be on Monday after the 4th Sunday at 8:30 AM in the narthex. You are always welcome to come and help with the sorting! Both of the food banks that we serve, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, continue to express their gratitude for the generosity of Messiah Congregation! So far in 2025, 3,023 pounds of food have been donated to the two food banks that we serve!
