  November Food on the 4th

For November, the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Bank Is requesting hearty foods for the winter months as well as foods for the upcoming holidays. Any other kinds of foods you may wish to contribute are also gratefully received.Their list includes:

      Pancake mix and syrup

      Cans of chicken, tuna, and beef

      Cans of mushroom soup

      Boxed or packaged potatoes

      Stuffing mix

      Macaroni and cheese

      Gravy mix

      Hot chocolate mix

      Jello

Bags of food may be left by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex any time during the month, and the bags will be placed around the altar for blessing on November 23. Some rather exciting news is that in November, we will reach a total of 200,000 pounds of food that will have  been contributed to the two food banks that we serve since the beginning of Food on the Fourth in 2010!  That is amazing and your faithful support of this ministry has made it possible!

You may leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex at anytime during the month, and food will be placed around the altar at worship services on on the 4th Sunday of each month. The sorting and distributing of the food will be on Monday after the 4th Sunday at 8:30 AM in the narthex. You are always welcome to come and help with the sorting! Both of the food banks that we serve, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, continue to express their gratitude for the generosity of Messiah Congregation!
