October Food on the Fourth Requests

A variety of foods is requested from the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank for our October 26th collection of food. However, you may also choose to donate whatever you wish. The following is what is requested:

• Cans of chicken and tuna
• Applesauce (snack packs or cans, no glass jars, please)
• Cans of mushroom soup
• Cans of mandarin oranges
• Cans of corn
• Pasta sauce (no glass jars, please)
• Packages of spaghetti
• Boxes of cereal

The green Food on the 4th bags will be available on our cupboard in the narthex throughout the month, and your bags of food may be left by that cupboard anytime during the month of October. If you prefer to give a monetary gift online, you may designate your gift to the “Food on the Fourth” fund and that money will be spent to purchase needed foods for the food banks. Messiah’s generous contributions to the North County food banks are greatly appreciated Thank you for your continued support!

You may leave bags of food by the Food on the 4th cupboard in the narthex at anytime during the month, and food will be placed around the altar at worship services on on the 4th Sunday of each month. The sorting and distributing of the food will be on Monday after the 4th Sunday at 8:30 AM in the narthex. You are always welcome to come and help with the sorting! Both of the food banks that we serve, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, continue to express their gratitude for the generosity of Messiah Congregation! So far in 2025, 3,023 pounds of food have been donated to the two food banks that we serve!
