Messiah Preschool first became important to me when my son attended. It didn't take me long to see it was a great, faith-based preschool with teachers who really loved what they were doing. The year my son started kindergarten, I was hired to work at Messiah Preschool. I feel very blessed to be part of such a great group of people who get to spend their day with children. Helping them with not only social interaction and academic learning but teaching them how much Jesus loves them is the best job I could possibly have.

What is your favorite TV show and why?

I Love Lucy. It always makes me laugh. All four main characters are funny and though they get in trouble and bicker, their love for each other always comes through.

What would be the title of your autobiography?

My Life—Not Perfect but Pretty Darn Great. When it comes to family and friends I have been very blessed. Though there are things I wish could have been different, I have very few regrets, and overall feel like my life has been pretty darn great.

What's a fun fact that few people know about you?

My parents went on our "honeymoon" with us! We didn't take a trip until months after we were married. We invited my parents to come with us. We had a great time and made great memories.

What is something that made you laugh in your classroom?

I had a little girl who was telling me how big she was growing. I told her it was because she was eating her fruits and vegetables. She then said, "One day I am going to be as big as you. But not your belly" I assured her that was probably a good thing.

What is something you've learned about yourself or your faith from your students?

Working with the children in the classroom has taught me to stop and thank God for even the things that seem small and trivial. The big stuff is easy to remember to give thanks for, but the small stuff is important too.
