It's been a long time coming—in-person, outdoor worship in a time of COVID. After discussing the latest research about its transmission, Messiah's Church Leadership Team (CLT) approved a plan for outdoor worship for a limited number of people. The safety and well-being of Messiah's members and friends is the CLT's primary concern.

As a result, and in addition to the morning livestream at 10:00a with no worshipers in the sanctuary, Messiah's worship team will offer two in-person, outdoor worship opportunities on Sunday, October 25. We will limit the services to 25 people each.

11:15a in the Big Backyard of the Intern House, Hazel Dell Campus
Park in the west parking of the Hazel Dell campus near the Dorothy Link Building (preschool), and walk on 94th ST to the adjoining property west of the preschool—the tan house where Messiah's interns live. The gate on the chimney side of the house will be open to the backyard. Bring your own lawn chairs and dress warmly.

4:30p at Fairgrounds Community Park in Ridgefield
You'll spot our group as you walk from the parking lot into the park. All worshipers at the latter service will have the opportunity to head to the Treat Street event in the Hazel Dell campus parking lot immediately following the service. Bring your own lawn chairs and dress warmly.

If you would like to attend, you'll have to sign-up in advance using an online form (see link below). You may also phone your reservation request(s) to Messiah's administrative assistant Sally Dost at 360.574.7081, and she will put you and yours on the list. Available seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. When we reach 25 people per service, we will add a waitlist of five people to each time and location.

These outdoor services will be bring-your-own-chair and dress-warmly events. We will also require mask-wearing and social-distancing of all participants per CDC, state, and local requirements.

The service will have all its components, including Holy Communion, and the bonus of experiencing the presence of Christ in worship with others beyond your own household.
