March 24th at 5:30p, Jubilee Collective is delighted to have Rev. Brad Froslee, co-founder of The Naming Project, to lead a 1-hour session via Zoom discussing and decoding the scriptural and historical context behind what have come to be referred to as 'clobber texts' or 'clobber verses'. These verses, including the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, Leviticus 18:22, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, and Romans 1:25-27, have been subject to misinterpretation and generalization, leading to wide use by the Christian church to condemn homosexuality and queerness. Rev. Froslee will be helping participants to understand the context behind these verses and why using them to defend queerphobia is dangerously misleading and harmful.

This is one of the sessions in Jubilee's six-week Lenten study "Welcoming and Affirming." You do not have to attended earlier sessions or continue after this session. This is unique session for everyone requiring no prerequisites or homework.

If you would like to participate in this opportunity, or know anyone who would benefit, Jubilee Collective warmly invites any interested (again, regardless of their participation in the greater book study).
