My baptism on January 19th, 1993 is the most important Jesus moment in my life thus far. During joyous mountain top experiences, shaking and turbulent grounds and through valleys of the shadow, I find myself continually clinging to the promises that I was given in baptism. These waters refresh, recharge, reorient, rejuvenate and remind me that I am a beloved child of God.
God Sits in the Heavens and Laughs – It seems that I have tried to make a great many plans about my future and life path, that don’t go as I have planned, but as God plans.
While many superpowers would be much cooler, I find myself regularly wishing I had “The Force” like a Star Wars Jedi – to turn off the lights from bed, find my keys, and grab the remote after settling in on the couch.
My favorite human to have coffee with is my wife, Curyn (coffee was our first date). I would also love to have coffee with Jesus, Martin Luther (if he were alive) and/or the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan.
I believe that by my own understanding or strength, I cannot believe in God or come to Him, but the Holy Spirit continues to daily capture me through the gospel and keeps me in faith. Praise God that the good news of Christ is daily engraved on my heart.
While discerning and prayerfully considering internship sites, there was clearly excitement and energy surrounding ministry here in Vancouver. I am thrilled to join a congregation that supports and fosters learning, encourages and forms future church leaders, and is passionate about spreading the good news of Christ Jesus, the Messiah!
