Know it by Heart!!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
I know John 3:16 by heart - and for some reason in the old King James translation. I've never had a KJV Bible. I also know most of the 23rd Psalm, the Lord's Prayer, the 10 Commandments and the Apostle's Creed by heart. They were all a part of the waters I swam in as a child.
The river I grew up in is now just a trickle. Faith no longer comes by osmosis. It comes through intention, thought, commitment, witness, articulation. Welcome to the new world which, really, is the old world. I love it!
