About "Holy Night"
Advent, Christmas, Epiphany: Waiting, Gift, Revelation. These are the wintertime stories told throughout history by our spiritual ancestors. These are the very stories of our lives and of our faith. Enveloped in these stories are mystery, surprises, darkness, hope, a whole lot of change, and a whole lot of unknown. Sound familiar? Our world today can be found in these stories. So can our pain, our questions, and our wonder. Our call this season? To recognize the necessity of a time to reflect, to prepare, and seek out the good, the sacred, and the holy in the midst of all that is happening around us.
"Holy Night" will begin in prayer, echoing the Advent cry: "Come, Lord Jesus." Inviting God's presence into our midst. You will hear the hymn "O Holy Night." Then, once the lyrics have settled in our hearts, praying over those words, you will hear Dan Miller's organ arrangement of "O Holy Night." At its conclusion, we will pray for peace over the earth and depart, filled with the life-giving breath of God's very spirit.
I invite you, with hope that the "Holy Night" vespers service would become part of your spiritual journey this winter. Whether you are reflecting, preparing, seeking, waiting, or simply wondering. "Holy Night" is for everyone. I encourage you to sign up using this link »
These limited-capacity services will implement strict social distancing and require the use of masks by participants and leaders. All participants will enter via the main entrance (by the sanctuary), and doors will be propped open. We will not collect an offering and won't be handing out worship folders for this non-Communion service. And I will be sanitizing the room before and after each worship service. - CVR
