Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Mission Developer is now live in the "religiosphere"

Update on "See What 'Yes' Can Do" Capital Campaign projects |

Mission Developer |
Messiah's Mission Developer Search Team has written a "Request for Proposal" (RFP) with which it hopes to attract mission developer candidates from coast to coast. The team forwarded the RFP to The Rev. Melanie Wallschlaeger, the Director of Evangelical Mission (DEM) for the Southwest Washington Synod of the ELCA, who has forwarded it to Bishops and DEMs across the country. The team also invited Messiah's former pastoral interns to share the document with colleagues whom they feel are qualified prospects.

The Church Leadership team invites you to read Messiah's RFP and pray about it. You may well know someone who would be perfect for the position. It may be a pastor, church worker, or someone who is simply gifted to serve in this capacity. Please pass the information on to whomever God brings to your attention. We are excited to see what God will do!

Mission Developer Search Team members: Sheri Backous, Anna Countryman, Steve Friebel, Mike Odren, Hope Quinn, Doug Ruecker, Theresa Zimmer, and Prs. Peter and Kathy and Intern Pr. Joel Hinck.

Capital Improvements
The Lower Level Dining Hall Renovation team of Jessica Potts, Winnie Teeter, Cheryl Sanders, and Maureen Weber have completed their work in gathering bids to refinish the dining room floor. They will be making a presentation to the Church Leadership Team (CLT) on Tuesday, April 2. Once the CLT approves a plan based on the team's presentation, the work will be scheduled.

The next "to do" item on the lower level project team's list is to research and recommend new tables and chairs for the dining hall. If you would like to participate in funding this specific part of Messiah's capital improvement plan, the CLT welcomes your gifts at this time. You may contact Doug Ruecker, Financial Secretary, or the pastors, to make a specific gift of pledge for these furnishings.

Once the lower level is complete, the CLT will move to the next items on the capital improvements project list.

An update on the pay-off of the church mortgage will be forthcoming.

Thank you for our support of the capital campaign. The CLT will continue to update you on projects and progress throughout the year.
