Dear Friends,
In 2002 the Vancouver/Clark county faith community took a leap of faith and began The Winter Hospitality Overflow [WHO] ministry. The WHO is located at St Paul and St Andrew Lutheran Churches. The ministry provides 80 of our most vulnerable neighbors a safe, warm, and predictable place to rest. We operate during the coldest and wettest months of the year - November 1 through March 31. Each night St Paul serves 25-30 single men, and St Andrew serves 45-50 single women and families.
In November 2020, we begin our 18th season. We ask you to leap again – even as we face unprecedented challenges not only to serving the homeless but also to maintaining our own communities. We need your financial support more than ever this year.
Even with increased safety and hygiene precautions, most of our volunteers cannot take part this season. Our partners at SHARE and Outsiders Inn agreed to provide staffing support in place of our volunteers. This will require a significant increase in our expenses.
Our goal is to raise $50,000.
