It has scheduled a Special Meeting of the Congregation for Sunday, December 8, at 11:00a in the Hazel Dell Campus sanctuary to vote on this Call recommendation. This will be the only agenda item for the meeting.

As it is crucial to keep the name of the candidate undisclosed for as long as possible, the Church Leadership Team will announce the candidate's name the first week of December. The candidate currently serves another ELCA congregation.
Important opportunities for you to meet the candidate ahead of the Special Meeting will happen on Wednesday, December 4. There will be multiple gatherings throughout the day for you to come and hear from the candidate and ask questions. The schedule of gathering events for that day will be published later this week.
The Church Leadership Team thanks the Mission Developer Search Team for its dedicated and prayerful work in reviewing proposals and identifying a candidate for this important work. Members of the team are Anna Countryman, Sheri Backous, Steve Friebel, Hope Quinn, Doug Ruecker, and Theresa Zimmer.
The Church Leadership Team and the Mission Developer Team are unanimous in recommending this gifted candidate to the congregation. They believe Messiah and the greater Vancouver area will be blessed in this new endeavor.
