All-Congregation Season of Discernment and Prayer Begins

The Church Leadership Team (CLT) invites the entire congregation to join them in daily prayer as we seek to follow God's way forward for the mission of the congregation in North Clark County

At the semi-annual meeting on January 29, Greg Rhodes, Messiah's Project Manager for the North Campus, talked about the congregation entering a time of discernment around a capital campaign for North County with the CLT taking the lead. This process of discernment involves praying, listening and sharing with each other.

As part of this process we will pray together for God's presence and grace in our discernment, during worship and throughout the week in our personal prayers. Here is the link to a printable version

Gracious God, we thank you for the gift of this community at Messiah, for the saints before us who built our church and fed our congregation, and for your spirit that continues to gather us. As we enter a time of discernment we offer ourselves and our leaders to you, and trust in your provision and guidance. Guide our hearts, that they may seek to share your gospel everywhere. Give us courage to explore new ministries. Stretch us beyond our comforts and anxieties. Fill us with your generosity, and help us raise up new generations for your glory. We pray this in the one who commissions the church and shepherds our way: Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please keep this prayer in your wallet or purse, with your Bible or devotional book, or taped to your bathroom mirror – whatever will help you remember to join with the full community of Messiah in offering our future to God.
