a message about upcoming opportunities for everyone to participate in the congregation's current three-month discernment process regarding steps in north Clark County from Greg Rhodes (Project Manager) and the Church Leadership Team (CLT)
Dear Members of Messiah,
You've probably heard that our congregation has entered a time of discernment between now and the end of April about our mutual ministry, especially as it relates to our ministry in north Clark County. This discernment is being led by our CLT, but it is both possible and desired that all members of Messiah participate.
How can you participate?
First, pray. Pray daily using the communal prayer that we've added to the prayers of the people during worship. Pray in your own words with your hopes and ideas, offering them to God and inviting God to shape your heart in this process. Pray for the CLT for wisdom and insight, for ears to hear the call of the Holy Spirit. God is listening.
Second, attend one or more of meetings we've set up for congregational participation. Each meeting may be slightly different, but they'll all follow this format: pray, listen and share. We will pray together that God will be at the center of this process, and that the congregation will follow God's call with confidence and joy. We will listen to what is happening in the process and to the thoughts of others. And, we will share our own sense of God's call. These will not be meetings to convince others of our position, but to hear and offer, letting God work through all of that in moving toward a faithful future. Several members of the CLT will attend each of these meetings.
Here is the meeting schedule.
Sunday, March 5, from 11:15am-12:30pm (Fellowship Hall)
Saturday, March 11, from 9:00-11:00am (Fellowship Hall)
New day and time!
Wednesday, March 29, from 6:30-8:00pm (Gymnasium)
This is a process for all members of Messiah. Please join us in this time of discernment.
