The last time you rode in a car with your aging parent driving was the stuff of nightmares. It's time to have "the talk" about giving up (or taking away) the keys. You've just left the doctor's office with a diagnosis that will alter your life in ways totally unexpected and it's time to let your spouse and children know. A person in your friend group shared something that was deeply hurtful to you and it's burning you up inside. You have to talk about it. Your boss has asked you to do something that is ethically wrong. You're losing sleep over it.
We have all experienced how difficult these conversations can be. We have all spent time and energy trying to avoid them. At this Theology on Tap, we will fess up to fact that these conversation are not easy or simple, consider some strategies for making them productive, and hear from some experts—and from each other—about how to have them.
Hello Fellow Beer and Theology Enthusiasts,
This year's final Theology on Tap will be in-house ... at the Intern House, to be exact! We will get going with a "soft start" of hors d'oeuvres and first round of refreshments at 6:00pm. The "official" conversation will get underway at 6:30pm.
Location & Parking
The Intern House backyard is just west of Messiah Lutheran's Hazel Dell campus. Please park in the church's west parking lot and walk to the Intern House next door. Follow the signs at the garage door of the house.
Your gift will help cover drinks, setup, the speaker. Suggested donation is $5/person. If you sign-up, please show up. We're buying the beer and supplies ahead of time based on your RSVP.
Ok ... not really a "code." But we will be outside, so bring something warm, just in case.
TOT-luck style! Please consider bringing an appetizer or dish ready to share, and any serving utensils you may need. Paper plates, napkins, flatware, and access to electrical plug-ins will be provided.
Free Childcare at church next door
We will be bringing in kegs of beer. If you would like a non-alcoholic beverage, or prefer wine, feel free to bring your own.
Each guest will be given drink tickets to redeem for beverages. Please respect the limits.
Our low-stress, easy to read and/or watch homework links will be in your inbox 7-10 days before the event.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Beers and blessings to you,
Pr. Peter, Intern Pr. Mary, and Summer Interns Hannah and Zach
