Theology on Tap considers "Religion and Resistance" in September 26 Event - Wait List forming

Tuesday, September 26 – 7:00-8:45pm  |  Ben's Bottle Shop, Garrison Square, Vancouver

[Update 09.18.2017] This event is now "sold out." But stuff happens and there are always those unable to make it on the night event—and they're pretty good about letting us know. We are very conscientious about contacting people on the wait list and providing them with the homework ahead of time. To get on the wait list, email Pr. Peter.

Click here to register. RSVP required. Please act quickly. Seating is limited for this event. A wait list will form when all tickets are gone.

Synopsis

Like it or not, ours is a political religion—but not in the way that our world normally understands politics. As our utmost authority, God calls us to live within God's law (summarized by Jesus in Matthew 22: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself) and calls us to co-create a world in accordance with that law. But what happens when the systems of this world get in the way of our living out this calling? This month, we take a look at what it means to proclaim that Jesus is Lord while living in the midst of both God's Kingdom and the kingdoms of this world.
