Holy Week and Easter at Messiah

You are invited to experience the mystery of God's work in Christ as it unfolds in this most important week in Jesus' life.

Maundy Thursday, April 13
This night we remember how Jesus washed his disciples' feet prior to his betrayal and arrest. Jesus says, "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another." (Jn.13.34) We also recount the Passover Meal that Jesus shared with his disciples and into which he inserted the sacramental promise of his real and forever presence in the meal.

Good Friday, April 14
"THE SEVEN LAST WORDS OF CHRIST" — We are self-deceiving people who find it difficult to tell the truth about ourselves. In the cross, we see a mirror of who we are. This honesty is made possible through our Lord, who says, even from the cross, "I love you still."
