I remember when my oldest daughter Elise, now 11, began singing songs around the house. And they weren’t just any songs. They were songs I lead at church. Sure, she knows some of the songs that are popular, but she sang songs to Jesus instead. Jesus was alive in her, and I heard him through here voice. It was a humbling experience.
We don’t take too many vacations, but I must say that our honeymoon to Hawaii has to rank up there. From the warm, moist air, to the trips out to the beach, it was simply a magical time.
The Art of Seeing the Big Picture Sometimes we think our life is “x”, but it’s really “y”. We need to step back and look at God’s picture from a distance. If we are too close to the details, we miss the grand design. And sometimes we need to step back in order to see God’s hand at work.
It’s a no brainer. I would choose to be able to go back or forward in time. Who wouldn’t love to see the dinosaurs, Jesus, or flying cars in action!?
God has the keys to our questions. He is here when we need him now and he is there when we pass on. We rest in his hands. While that is a mystery, I believe it and take comfort in it. And when it is all said and done, God shows us his love. And I know that loving people is what He calls us to. Because of that truth, I believe in God.
People need to be loved where they are at. I know I need that too! I have a story and a journey, as do we all! And I’ve made so many unfortunate choices in my life... choices that have impacted my marriage and challenged my faith. But here I am. Why? Because of grace. Let’s face it, grace is simply undeserved. We know this, but we must accept this. I know I have a hard time accepting Jesus’s gift of grace, but that’s what we are called to do. We are called to love Jesus and his people and that is the greatest endeavor.
